Markus Sabadello has been a pioneer in the field of digital identity for many years. He has worked as a developer and consultant for Silicon Valley startups, the Harvard Berkman Center for Internet & Society, the MIT Media Lab, and the World Economic Forum's "Rethinking Personal Data" initiative.
 

Markus is especially engaged in topics related to user-centric and self-sovereign identity, and he is active in a number of organizations and communities in these areas, such as the FreedomBox, the Respect Network, the Federated Social Web, the Personal Data Ecosystem Consortium, or Vendor Relationship Management. In 2015 he founded his own company in Vienna, Danube Tech, to advance technologies such as XDI and FreedomBox.
