European Lab forum : A varied programme over 3 days

An annual theme

Every year, the European Lab Forum takes its participants and visitors on a journey, via an overarching annual theme, with the ultimate aim of getting to the bottom of the issues that will shape the culture of tomorrow.

A range of formats

Conferences, debates, screenings, seminars, round-table discussions, workshops and masterclasses; exchanges involving specialists, entrepreneurs and project leaders; presentations of citizen and democratic initiatives; pioneering and hybrid projects… Over a period of three days, the European Lab Forum offers a programme that is open to both the general public and to specialist professionals, allowing everyone to draw up an individual schedule to suit their own requirements and interests.

100 participants

Around 100 participants from all around the world are invited to speak at each edition of the European Lab Forum. This eclectic, international community is made up of thinkers and entrepreneurs; representatives from universities, the media and civil society; political, social and economic decision-makers; bloggers and artists; and cultural and democratic activists.

Continuous live media

A mechanism that facilitates both the mediation and the democratisation of public interaction, the Gaité Lyrique’s Media Hub is temporarily leaving Paris behind in order to set up shop at the European Lab Forum. A central component of the Media Hub will be RadioLab, European Lab’s own dedicated web radio, which will welcome numerous guests and animate discussions and debates on the forum, creating cutting edge content available via both online streaming and as a live spectacle for visitors to the forum.

A forum open to both the creative community and the general public

The forum is aimed at the general public, at citizens and students both engaged in and interested by the issues that will shape the culture of tomorrow, but also at members of the creative, cultural and digital communities. To cater for both audiences, two separate programmes of events are on offer:

European Lab forum : Think, get inspired & debate !
18 conferences open to the wider public, aimed at making sense of the great cultural, political, social and urban transformations that our era is going through, by inviting a new generation of activists, thinkers and citizens to take part in debates.

European Lab Pro : Learn, work & connect !
European Lab Pro is a professional platform that provides the active and creative community with opportunities to network and interact with cultural, digital and media entrepreneurs, in order to foster synergies and develop greater international cooperation. Masterclasses, workshops and training sessions, available on registration, allow project leaders to further develop their competencies.
