Annegret Falter works as an author and consultant in Berlin. She is the chairperson of the Whistleblower-Netzwerk e.V.
 

From 1999 to 2014 she was a member of the jury bestowing the German Whistleblower Award donated by the Association of German Scientists (VDW) and the IALANA (International Association Of Lawyers Against Nuclear Arms). Brigitte Heinisch (2007), Chelsea Manning (2011) and Edward Snowden (2013) have won this award, among others.
 
Falter has written and edited numerous publications about whistleblowers and diverse issues linked to the political and social aspects of whistleblowing. She analyses whistleblowing in the context of the public interest, freedom of expression, the democratic discourse and political participation. She is a member of the German Science Journalist Association (WPK).
