Didier Eribon is a philosopher. He is the author of a celebrated biography of Michel Foucault (translated into 18 languages) and various other landmark works: Réflexions sur la question gay (Fayard, 1999), Une morale du minoritaire. Variations sur le thème de Jean Genet (Fayard, 2001), Hérésies. Essais sur la théorie de la sexualité (Fayard, 2003).
 

A formal invitee at numerous universities around the world – and in particular Berkeley, where he held the title of Visiting Professor for several years – he is internationally renowned as one of the most important French intellectuals of our times. His next book Principes d’une pensée critique (Fayard) will be published on 11 May.
